Personal Umbrella Insurance
What is an umbrella insurance policy?
Just as a real umbrella protects you from rain and adds extra protection to any jacket, so an Umbrella Insurance Policy adds an extra level of liability insurance to your car, home, boat, motorcycle, or rental unit.

Why does someone need an umbrella policy?
This is a common question since all of the items under the umbrella already have liability insurance. However, the umbrella comes in to play with those "God only knows" scenarios. For example, if you were in a car accident that was your fault and unfortunately someone was killed, the liability coverage on your car may not be enough. Your policy would need to pay for the damage to the other persons property, pain and suffering to their family, possibly loss of future earnings, and that can add up really fast.

What does an umbrella add?
The most common umbrella policy adds $1,000,000 in coverage to each of the underlying policies. You could increase that amount up to $5,000,000 if needed.
